In the first rehearsal, one student said, "I love this!" I asked him later if he meant the process or the song and he said both.

I really like that this process requires student involvement in decisions across the entire process. As my current students mature, I'm sure they will become more confident and independent in the choices they make.

They really liked the more contemporary, jazz style of the pieces. It was a nice change from the more traditional arrangements (even the Latin and world pieces) found from most music publishing sites.

It was exciting to see them engage, work together, try ideas and problem solve. I think they enjoyed helping to choose the tune and getting started through the initial stages.

Everybody got to choose their favorite song, so your opinion really matters.

I enjoyed listening to short excerpts from each piece and seeing how they differed in instrumentation, rhythm/ groove, and melody.

It was nice to be more like a student run group.
